Our Purpose

  • Their dedicated efforts offer a lifeline to those navigating the complex and often overwhelming resettlement process. By sharing their experiences and expertise, the council members help newcomers access essential resources, understand their rights, and integrate more smoothly into their new surroundings.

  • We shed light on the remarkable strength and resilience of newcomer youth, showcasing their potential to impact and enhance our global community positively. We often face tremendous challenges in adapting to a new environment and consistently demonstrate unwavering determination, courage, and a deep commitment to making the world a better place to live.

  • We plan and execute community events to extend all community members a warm and inclusive welcome. Through these events, the Council seeks to foster a sense of belonging, promote cross-cultural understanding, and provide opportunities for individuals from diverse backgrounds to connect and collaborate.

  • We aim to provide educators with a deeper comprehension of the myriad cultures and experiences that refugee and immigrant youth bring into the classroom. This includes a keen awareness of the trauma, daily challenges, and barriers these young individuals may face.

  • We aim to break down the stigmatization surrounding mental health issues and create a deeper understanding of its significance. Through open and empathetic dialogues, we are actively working towards destigmatizing mental health challenges and fostering an environment where mental well-being is valued and prioritized, ultimately ensuring that these youth receive the support they need to thrive in their new communities.

We are a CRB-based Program and a part of YEP!
